In Ephesians chapter four, the apostle Paul urges the church to be unified and live in a way that glorifies our Lord Jesus. In a demonstration of His grace, Christ himself provided the church with gifts. In verses 11 and 12, Paul tells us Christ has gifted the church with leaders (evangelists, shepherds, and teachers) who will prepare His people for His service. As we pray about this pastoral transition, please spend time in prayer this week thanking the Lord for His grace in providing us with teachers and leaders who help us to fulfill His call on our lives. Pray that we will respond to the leaders that Christ has provided and serve one another. Pray also for the unity that Paul urges us to have so that Jesus might be glorified.
